I was able to add the field and link it to the database but I’m having trouble finding where to make the field appear so the custom information can be added at the registration page. Any suggestions?
February 11, 2011 at 3:39 am #23595amin007ParticipantWe have been working on a custom field feature for the WP eMember plugin. We are nearly done with the implementation. This feature will let you add custom fields to the registration and edit profile fields. We should have something ready in a week.

March 4, 2011 at 12:15 am #23598amin007ParticipantWe hit some issues with WordPress 3.1 release so had to postpone this work and fix the other stuff as that was high priority:

Anyway, everything is back to normal now so we will resume work on it.
March 31, 2011 at 9:02 pm #23599exhartMemberSorry to bother but if there’s some documentation on how to properly add custom fields that would be great. I have the custom field I created linked to the database and the information seems to save correctly but when I check the user profile the custom user field is blank even though I registered with information in that field and even made it a required field. Any suggestion on where I can implement the script to make this information load on the user profile?
April 1, 2011 at 12:35 am #23600amin007ParticipantThe custom field for member details feature has been recently added. This feature was pretty complex so we don’t want to put official documentation for it just yet (we are not telling our new customers about this feature yet .
We will add documentation for this after this feature has gone through some heavy testing.
Basically, you go to the “Custom Field Settings” tab from eMember settings then add a custom field to collect details from your customer. After you are done adding the custom feilds (example: a checkbox to collect if the member is interested in something, a textbox to collect some text etc) hit the “Update” button. This will make it so the field that you have configured will show up in the registration form and edit profile page so the member can interact with those fields.
We fixed a bug in the custom field feature last night so it might be a good idea for you to get a fresh build of eMember from here:

April 1, 2011 at 8:06 pm #23602exhartMemberI uploaded over the old wp-eMemebr install & now the custom fields tab is in the eMember settings but when I added the field it does not add the field in the Registration form nor the member profile page. Any suggestions on why it is not working?
April 1, 2011 at 11:58 pm #23603amin007ParticipantFirst, make sure you have a custom field added in the “Custom Field Settings” tab. Now, post a link to your registration page.
