Currency symbol – Buy Now type button and fancy display

I am setting up a few items in my store which uses USD in other currencies as Buyitnow items. In the fancy views of the non-USD items however the Price still shows the $ instead of £. Can you suggest how to get around this.

the actual item is £250 and this all works in paypal etc. its just the price display that is an issue
