I cannot get eMember renewal feature to update membership from expired to active with next years date.

1st) I created the “Renewal Page” with the same buttons that are on the Join Us page (buttons worked but failed to renew member).

2nd) I set up “Section Protection for Expired Members Only” and that works just fine.

On some of our members “my test member for example (which is myself using my personal PayPal acct)is set as Multiple Memberships, (I enabled that a few days ago because I have some members who need that feature)

So when I tested it today, I paid for the Primary membership first… the program only changed the “Subscription Starts” date to today (Dec 31, 2018) and did not renew the member correctly.

Note: the memberships expire on Dec. 31st. I have some set to “Until Cancelled” of which I am not worried about those because they need not renew..

So the program will NOT extend the membership for another year and it keeps the member as “Expired” but changes the “Subscription Starts” to the current date which happened to be today, Dec. 31, 2018.

I did receive an email stating “Member Account Upgraded or Renewed” so that it also working..

I researched a long time in the forum and I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

Other thing that could be a problem… when I signed myself up as a “test” member, I had set the membership button to $1.00 now it is set to $150.00 (the actual fee) which I paid that to test the renewal. (hope this made sense to you)

For the membership level that you are trying to renew, what is the length of the membership? Is it set for a certain time period, or do you have it set to expire on a particular date?

We have approx. 7 memberships that all expire on Dec. 31, 2018

I want members to be able to renew and have it then expire on Dec. 31, 2019 and they always expire on Dec. 31 of that year. Even if a member signs up 11/30/20?? they will expire on 12/31/of same year

So in other words, Memberships run from Jan 1 to Dec. 31

Also, my membership renewal email never went out.

I do have debug set up and I see allot of failures.

I forgot to mention that I also use your “Form Builder” and “Member Profile Extended” Members are allowed to Print their ID cards as well.

I just don’t know what the problem is, I can provide you with the debug info if you need to see it. Like I mentioned above, there are failures for each member and I do not know how to fix the problem.

I just remembered one more thing… when I first set up Membership payments, I set up pp_subscription payments but the organization decided to have me change to pp_buy_now. I did that within the 1st month of membership.

Right now, I am going back through your documentation, comparing it to what I set up to try to figure this out. I would be willing to pay one of your developers to “fix it” if that is possible. as I have Members that are waiting to renew…
