I have eMember subscribers and I’d like to start a SimplePress forum.
I gather I need to create WordPress Users to have SimplePress log them in automatically.
If that’s the case, how do I create WP users from my eMember users?
Thanks!
Mike

July 30, 2014 at 1:28 pm #64670Hi, I’ve done that, so new users should be integrated, but I have around 80 members that are in eMember but are not wordpress users.
Do I need to make them wordpress users, and how do i do that?
Thanks!

Create WP account for eMember users

August 12, 2014 at 5:26 pm #64673I have a couple of questions:
1. When a user cancels, [and they have a wp user account] can they login via wp-login.php? Or does eMember unsubscribe them from wp also?
2. After the installation of simple:press and the linking of wp user and emember, all the emember passwords have been reset. And the reset password function doesn’t seem to be working for anyone. Do I have to reset all their passwords, or have they all been reset to a default password?
Thanks,
Mike

2) eMember doesn’t automatically reset password. So not sure what happened on your install but does it work now after a user reset their password? Did you import these user records from WP?
August 13, 2014 at 8:32 am #646751. thanks
2. The users can’t reset their password, so I have to reset it, then they can login and change it, etc. I didn’t import from wp, I had emember first, then installed simple:press so I had to create wp users to get that working. I’m on emember 8.8.9
August 13, 2014 at 11:27 pm #64676adminKeymasterWhat happens when a user clicks the password reset link in the emember login widget or form?
August 13, 2014 at 11:35 pm #64677Some people are able to reset via that, some people don’t receive the email. [not in spam]
I had issues with people not receiving the setup emails before so I installed this plugin [http://coffee2code.com/wp-plugins/configure-smtp/], that was ages ago though.
