Hi,
I am developing a site for the sale of camp registrations.
Here is what I am trying to do:
1. [Customer] The customer purchases a camp pre-registration for $0.00.
2. [wp eStore] An email is sent to the user with additional instructions and information.
3. [wp eMember] The user is registered as a “Pre-registered” membership level.
4. [Customer] The customer completes the pre-registration material off line and returns to the site. When they log in, they will see a product to purchase for full camp registration as the product will be available to all members with a pre-registration level.
I have tried a few options for this.
Option a. Customer registers as a “pre-registered” level, then purchases the pre-registration product.
The down side of this is that the customer does not receive a customised pre-registration email with their purchase.
Option b. Customer purchases a pre-registration product, selecting a “manual” payment method.
Option c. Customer purchases a pre-registration product using the squeeze form functionality.
I am preferring option “c” using the squeeze form as it is the easiest for the customer and still gets the custom email to the customer.
My question:
Is the system able to automatically register the person as a specific membership level when they purchase a product?
Any other corrections to my thinking would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Chad
In “option a,” what kind of customization is required?
If the customer is doing a checkout via the shopping cart (manual or any other payment gateway) then a membership account will also be created (given you want it to).
