Hello – just getting started w/ eStore.
I’ve set up some digital downloads and created a coupon for 100% off when product category equals ‘downloads’.
When I enter the coupon, I’m getting this message:
Cart does not meet the minimum requirement for this coupon!
I have the settings configured to allow manual for zero amounts, however, this seems like a coupon issue because as soon as I apply it, I get the message, not at checkout.
Coupon is set to run 100 times.
Thanks for your help!
Grant
February 3, 2012 at 4:53 am #41569adminKeymasterHi, Your configuration is wrong. There is no such discount called “product category”. There is one called “Product Category ID” where you are suppose to use the ID of the product category not the name.
July 24, 2012 at 5:09 pm #41570AuthorYourDreamsMemberI have set up a coupon called VRFINALIST and I have filled everything out according to the instructions. When I go to test it and put in the coupon code, it gives me the error message that the cart does not meet the minimum for that coupon. And it certainly does. My website is [www.thevacationrentalguide.com/bookstore]. I have refreshed the cache, and still I get this error message. I have also loaded up the card with lots of items to see if adding more money to the cart would allow me to use the coupon. No go.
July 24, 2012 at 11:30 pm #41571adminKeymasterCan you please tell me what conditions you have specified for the “VRFINALIST” coupon?
August 5, 2012 at 6:08 am #41572AuthorYourDreamsMemberYes. The conditions are that when subtotal is equal to 59.90.
Which is when they buy both books. (24.95 plus 34.95)
I just added another coupon; and it’s condition is $27.00 off. That coupon CODE is VROM1.
However, it says its successfully added the discount which is 0. So it worked and it didn’t work.
So I am still getting the error on the VRFINALIST CODE…Cart does not meet the minimum requirement for this coupon!
This coupon thing just doesn’t seem to be working at all for me. Darn. That’s one of the reasons I purchased the software, that and the Discount for posting on social networks. I hope we can get this working.
August 6, 2012 at 5:05 am #41573adminKeymasterLets try one more thing… please load a fresh build of the eStore plugin:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
Also, instead of using “when subtotal is equal to 59.90” use “when subtotal is greater than 59.90” as the condition. The “Greater than condition” is better because it will be true for any amount that is over 59.90 which is most likely what you want.
Let me know if you see any difference in the behavior after that.
August 6, 2012 at 5:34 pm #41574AuthorYourDreamsMemberThank you for your idea. I did try the GREATER than function and it is “working” now. But truthfully, that is not what I want. There will be other products in the shopping cart that are also greater than that amount and I do not want to give that discount. I really do want to use the EQQUAL TO function, and I assume that’s what it’s there for. I will try the download and let you know if that helps, because I really do not want the GREATER THAN function because it will give a discount to the other items that are greater than that amount. Unless the “greater than” function is actually and “equal to” function. I only want to give this discount when the two products add up to this exact amount, not greater than. I will let you know if I am able to use the EQUAL TO function after I download the new plugin.
THANKS!
August 7, 2012 at 12:23 am #41575adminKeymasterIf you are just trying to give discount to one particular item then using the amount is not the best way to do it. Try using the “Item ID” -> “Is equal to” condition. This way if you change the price of that item later, your condition won’t break.
August 7, 2012 at 1:32 pm #41576AuthorYourDreamsMemberOK. When I click on that link, I do not see where to download a fresh install. However, I have purchased this WP-ESTORE, so should I just reinstall the version that I purchased that I saved onto my hard drive; or is there a new one somewhere. I did not see anything on that page about where there is a link for a FRESH install.
August 7, 2012 at 1:39 pm #41577ZainParticipantHi AuthorYourDreams,
This may help – it’s the Automatic Update feature for getting a fresh version of the plugin(s) you’ve purchased.
Click on the “Request automatic update” link.
You’ll need your original email address and PayPal transaction ID.
I use this all the time, and it’s definitely a page I’d recommend bookmarking!
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Zain
August 7, 2012 at 1:39 pm #41578AuthorYourDreamsMemberI am sorry. I must have not communicated well enough. Let me clarify. The discount coupon is when they purchase TWO particular books together: VOLUME 1 and VOLUME 2. So I cannot use a product ID. THEREFORE, by using that particular pricepoint 59.90 where the two volumes add up to that price together, the coupon discount can be applied. It will not therefore be applied to other products, and it won’t “break,” because I do not need to change the price on either of those products, ever! I am not sure why this feature wouldn’t be able to work. It says GREATER THAN a certain amount, or EQUAL TO a certain amount. If these features do not work, why are they included as options? I am confused. I did pay for the software, so I am expecting to get support to make the features work. ANY FURTHER SUGGESTIONS? Maybe help me actually locate the link where I can download the fresh new version…or confirm that I may have success by deleted and reinstalling the version that I have purchased that is stored on my hard drive.
August 8, 2012 at 1:49 am #41579adminKeymasterI have sent you an email to get access to the site so I can jump on and check the settings.
December 1, 2013 at 9:36 pm #41580thepropMemberHi there,
I’m trying to apply a $5 off coupon on my website for every t-shirt purchased, not $5 off the entire order. Is is possible to set it up so that the code can be applied multiple times?
December 2, 2013 at 10:04 pm #41581adminKeymasterYou can do that with a standard discount coupon. Have you configured a coupon that gives $5 discount without any condition? If you do that then the coupon will give $5 off every item. I think you should also try the % based discount. A % based discount is easier to work with.
When you say the code can be applied multiple time, you mean in the same checkout? Or different checkout?
January 6, 2014 at 6:36 pm #41582nolmt60243MemberHi there.
I am getting a “Cart does not meet the minimum requirement” error currently. Here are the details:
I have raised the pricing on my site beginning the first of the year. I created a single coupon code, called ‘2013price’. There are multiple coupons with this title, and each of them has a condition set as: “item id” + “is equal to” and the particular item ID that was altered, so that all of my previous customers could have the old pricing as a thank you. There are no other conditions set, no expiry dates, and no redemption limits.
Each of the coupons are a specific dollar amount off that particular item. I am using WP 3.5.2, and eStore version 6.9.0.1.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Also of note, I did just apply for a manual upgrade as I could not find the Transaction ID for my purchases (WP eStore and Affiliate Platform).
