Coupon Code for Free Download

Hi,

First post since purchasing this GREAT plugin (WP eStore) yesterday. One thing we want to be able to do is provide a download card when a customer comes to see a band. They can then take this download card with a Coupon Code on it and redeem for free songs/album. This card is provided by the band say for an album/EP release where the cover fee to see the live performance grants them free download of the songs/album.

I tried using 100% off on a Coupon created, but obviously PayPal does not recognize a free transaction…is there a way to bypass the PayPal function if a 100% off coupon code is entered? Any other suggestions if not?

Okay, I see that I can use Manual Checkout function for 100% off Coupon Code and set it so that it captures the customer data and forces the Manual Checkout Form if it is zero dollar. I also setup all the e-mail info on the Manual Checkout section.

My problem right now is the e-mails are not being sent to the customer once the manual checkout form is used. The seller e-mail is also not being sent to notify there is a new order…

Any help would be much appreciated!

It’s amazing what reading and playing around with the plugin will get you

All is good. I just use the Manual Check out for 100% off Coupon Codes and to solve my e-mail issues I installed ‘Configure SMTP’ plugin on my WP site.

I’m interested in doing something similar to this, but would like to generate several thousand unique coupon codes.

Each customer would have a different code. If necessary, I can generate the codes and then upload them (though it would be easier to save a step)

Is there an easy way to do this?

There is no option to automatically generate thousands of coupon codes. However, you can generate your coupon codes then insert them in the coupons table using PHPMyAdmin. The following tutorial should teach you how to use PHPMyAdmin:
