Counter so that 1000th member gets a free trial membership?

Just wondering if there’s a way to track members so that we can specify a free 6 month trial membership to the 1000th person to sign up or something along those lines. Thanks.

The member ID is incremental so a member whose ID is 1000 would be your 1000th member.

Ok, thanks. So is there a way to automatically set it so that when that member signs up, they don’t have to pay, or would it be a refund type of situation?

Nope, you will need to modify that code of eMember on your installation to do this.

This won’t be a trivial coding change. I would recommend you just manually award the 1000th member a prize of equal value.

I talked with our clients today and suggested the same thing. I think it went over well so we don’t need to worry about it. Good to know in the future though if I have someone willing to pay you for your time to do it
