Hi, I am using Payment Getaway Bundle with Authorize.net ARB subscriptions.
The customers who bought a trial subscription were confused because the receipt shows the full subscription price, instead of showing also the trial price.
Here is an example:
This is what the receipt shows now:
Sidelines Printed TRIAL SUBSCR x 1 – $29.95 (USD)
It should say something like this (for our current settings):
Sidelines Printed TRIAL SUBSCR x 1 – $13.00 (USD)
$29.95/year after 1 year trial
Can you please correct this?
Thanks,
Lucian
September 4, 2013 at 3:15 pm #57594lucianmihMemberOr using variables this will look something like this
Sidelines Printed TRIAL SUBSCR x 1 – $Trial_price (USD)
$Renewal_price / $Renewal_period after $Trial_period
I use Payment Gateway Bundle 1.81 and eStore 6.9.8.7
September 5, 2013 at 1:11 am #57595adminKeymasterWhat value have you entered in the standard “Price” field of this product?
September 5, 2013 at 7:25 am #57596lucianmihMemberStandard product price: $13
Recurring Billing Amount: $29
Still, the receipt says:
Thank you for your purchase!
Sidelines Printed TRIAL SUBSCR x 1 – $29.95 (USD)
September 5, 2013 at 11:00 pm #57597adminKeymasterInstead of using $13 in the standard price field… use a descriptive text like the following:
$13 trial then $29/year
It is okay to use a descriptive text in the price field for a subscription product. Whatever you enter there should appear in the notification email.
September 6, 2013 at 12:55 am #57598lucianmihMemberI already did that yesterday as a temporary solution (I changed the product description), but it still shows the $29.95 USD at the end.
I added some more info in the email receipt body, as this product also has variations. I pasted below what I have now in the receipt.
It is still confusing to see the $29.95 (USD) there.
Note: Now I see that you recommended to place the descriptive text in the price field — then how will the Authorize.net know to charge them $13 the first year, if I put Standard product price = “$13 first year, then $29.95/year”? And what do I do about product variations?
I think a fix should be applied to this situation, for the ARB subscriptions.
Current receipt looks like this now:
Thank you for your purchase!
SL Printed TRIAL SUBSCR $13 first year (2013) x 1 – $29.95 (USD)
If you have a TRIAL SUBSCRIPTION the renewal rate is:
$29.95 per year after first year (US)
$39.95 per year after first year (Canada)
$49.95 per year after first year (Foreign)
September 7, 2013 at 2:05 am #57599adminKeymasterThank you. You do have a good point. I would like to work on it to enhance it. In the mean time I am going to suggest another workaround to see how that works for you.
Edit this product in question and go the “Product Specific” instruction area of this product. Now enter the terms/details of the subscription in this field.
Next, go the email settings menu of eStore and use the
{product_specific_instructions}
tag in the email body field. Now, when a customer purchase this subscription item, they will see the extra explanation of the subscription you added in the product specific instruction.
September 8, 2013 at 3:17 am #57600lucianmihMemberI tried {product_specific_instructions} and it works well. Thanks for the tip!
Ok, I’ll wait for your improvement related to subscription price on the receipt.
September 25, 2013 at 1:38 pm #57601lucianmihMemberJust wondering if you added your improvements for subscriptions receipt in the current version. Will you let me know when it’s done?
There’s no hurry, for now I use the suggestions from this ticket.
Thanks!
September 26, 2013 at 6:34 am #57602adminKeymasterI will give you a notification when we add this.
October 3, 2013 at 5:48 am #57603adminKeymasterWe have implemented this so it will be available in our next build of the plugin.
