Ok, I created a subscription on my site that was done through the Add to Cart. I realize the error of my ways now and I’ve changed the Subscription item to be a Subscription item now. New subscriptions are going to work correctly as we go.
However, what is going to happen with my folks that were setup incorrectly? Basically they are starting to get the notifications that their subscriptions expire in 10 days. So they can now go and subscribe correctly but will it take their same membership info over correctly now? They are already a member, they just need to purchase a recurring subscription instead of a one time subscription. Do they just need to make this purchase correctly this time and everything will just keep working as normal? It doesn’t affect too many users so I can manually help them if need be.
And as a future request…I’d LOVE to have coupons for subscriptions. I just had to give that up and I was tracking my organic subscriptions through coupon codes. Somehow if we can consider them affiliate referrals or something but easy to type in vs link from (if using posters for referrals).
When your existing members make a payment while logged into the system it will know that this is an existing member and the plugin will simply upgrade/reinstate their account status to the correct place. This documentation has more info:
