I have read the article for setting up the Contact Form 7 and etc. however I am not clear on this : NOTE: Im running a membership site that is using WP Affiliate to award commission to affiliate that refer new members to my site. So heres the part I do not understand
JOE sends a visitor (SUE) to my sites landing page and the visitor (SUE) fills out the Contact Form 7 (SUE)is now a LEAD. Lets say the lead SUE comes back 120 days later this is PASSED the cookies expiration date of 90 days. If SUE registers on my site and becomes a member (paid membership)-
WILL the system AUTOMATICALLY – notice that SUE was referred from JOE 120 days ago and still give him a commission and Remove her from the MANAGE LEADS list (under wp-aff settings) ?
Or do I have this all misunderstood and the MANAGE LEADS LIST is only for manually handling commissions? If this is true IF you have 100’s of leads coming into the Contact Form 7 daily some even dead leads, how will even be able to sort and know Sue even came back and bought and that you need to MANUALLY AWARD JOE the referring affiliate his commission
Thanks sorry for the long message.
March 4, 2013 at 11:24 pm #54190adminKeymasterI think you are doing this slightly wrong. The lead capture is for capturing a lead so you can manually communicate to the lead and sell stuff to them later. You could be doing multiple transactions to one lead (this is why the leads are not deleted automatically. If you think a lead is a dead end then you delete them).
From what you explained, I don’t see why you would need any lead capture system in place. It seems to me that you have a standard setup like the following:
1) JOE sends a visitor (SUE) to your site or the landing page on your site
2) At some point in the future, SUE signs up for a membership (There will be a payment involved for the membership)
3) You integrate the affiliate plugin with whatever is processing the membership payment so a commission is given to JOE for sending this member.
You can set the cookie expiry time to adjust how long you want to allow the referral to be valid.
Simply go through the integration options section of the documentation and see which integration applies to you based on the ecommerce/membership solution you are using:

But I can see the use of this I can also make this contact 7 form an exclusive optin landing page that offers a highend product so that why I can call these leads and sell them …I get it . thanks so much
