Greetings from (too sunny) Spain…
I’m developing a free online coaching course which I want to partially protect until visitors have registered.
All posts look like this:
Blog Entry Title
Introductory Text
Video
Further Explanatory Text
Exercises
Comments and discussion
Which I want to break up as follows:
Visible to all
Blog Entry Title
Introductory Text
Video
Protected
Further Explanatory Text
Exercises
Comments and discussion
So, in the second (protected) part of the post I would use the [emember_protected]…
[/emember_protected] codes. But what about the last part of the post? How can I stop non-registered member from participating in the discussion? As far as I understand, I can only protect individual comments which in my case would be unworkable.
Any help welcome… THX Frank

Hi Frank, You can use the WordPress user integration feature (see the settings menu of WordPress). After you have enabled this feature go to the “Discussions” settings menu from WordPress admin dashboard and check the following:
Users must be registered and logged in to comment
This will make it so only a logged in member can post a comment.
Hi,
I am after a similar set up to above but instead of just blocking non members from posting comments I would also like to stop them from seeing the comments from members as well.
Is this possible please?
Thanks
By default the comments on a protected post or page are also protected (so only member who can view that post can view the comments). You can check the “Protect Comments Separately” checkbox in the settings to override this and individually protect which comment can be viewed by who. You can set the comment protection from the “Manage Content Protection” menu.
