Tagged: multiple levels, multiple memberships, paypal button
New user here.
I have set up my free membership area, and now I’d like that member’s home page to have a button with options to subscribe to a paid membership.
I have created a button (on PayPal’s website) and I really like the dropdown functionality which allows users to select the membership level they’d like to subscribe to and purchase, rather than having 6 different membership options.
See a picture here for what I mean with the dropdown button from Paypal:

My question is, how can I take this button and make it work with the membership levels I’ve set up on WP eMember? If I were to just put in that PayPal button code into my site somewhere, users would have the option to purchase a subscription, which is good, but it would not link to the eMember plugin as far as I’m aware. So they would purchase a membership but it wouldn’t automatically give them access to the protected areas of the site (for that membership level).
Any ideas on how to fix this? I’ve read through the help articles and they all are catered around making buttons for one specific membership option, which I don’t want to do.
Thanks in advance.
Currently, eMember does not support that kind of payment button; and it’s not a feature that can be whacked together in a few hours.
HOWEVER, if you also happen to have our eStore plugin, and know a little PHP programming; it is possible to achieve the desired functionality by creating “subscription text links,” and then using the appropriate PHP code to execute them.
