I’m currently setting up a music download site using eStore and eMember and intending to use your affiliate plug-in for commissions.

We want to pay artists offering their music a commission based on net sales. This appears to be possible through the eStore AddOn Settings section relating to the product.

Are revenue sharing commissions based on profit after PayPal have taken their commission? And if not, is it possible to achieve this?

    TIA

Please read our revenue sharing feature documentation which will help you understand this better:

Revenue sharing commission is calculated on the sale amount (it doesn’t take into account the PayPal commission). You will need to set the commission percentage accordingly to cater for any processing cost that you may incur.

    Thank you.

I had read that article and wondered if it might be possible since it can pay an author commission after the affiliate commission.

Since our percentage fee will be fixed, we could extract this using the affiliate feature. But the biggest issue will be the minimum 20p charge when orders could be less than £1.

Is it possible to set a standard shipping fee for the transaction?

Then we could explain this is covers fixed charges relating to their order and therefore providing their download.

Yes, you can add shipping to your item(s) but that will need to be configured in the eCommerce plugin.

Isn’t it easier to add the amount to the item price rather than adding shipping? You can always price your item like the following which looks cleaner than using shipping (in my opinion):

    $15 + $5 (other expenses)
