Is there an option to SKIP the PayPal confirmation page and simple have the user go automatically to my thank you page after the payment has been confirmed?
Basically, I would like to minimize the number of pages the users needs to click through to get access to their download link. It seems like the PayPal confirmation page and my thank you page could be combined into one page (on my site). I see the option for this in my PayPal account, but then I also read in these forums to leave all those settings as default so that this plugin can control it.
Nope, you can’t skip the PayPal confirmation page. The only think PayPal will let you do is automatically redirect the customer from the confirmation page to your “Thank You” page but for automatic redirection PayPal do not post the payment data back to your site. Without payment confirmation data this plugin will not give out links.
The only way to get the payment data when used with auto redirection is to use Paypal’s PDT (Payment Data Transfer) feature but it’s a lot more hassle to set that up as there are manual setting up involved. You can definitely customize the plugin to use PDT if you have the knowledge but I will not offer it in this plugin as most of my customers do not have the required knowledge to setup PDT. I am trying to offer a solution that works with the least amount of effort and doesn’t require a lot of technical knowledge to use.
