ParticipantI installed the “Simple Cart Collect Customer Input” plugin Add on. I went to Customer Input Settings and added fields. Now, what code do I use so that the input fields show? I thought it was [show_wp_shopping_cart]
Here is where I want to see the fields show up: waterlabs.net/other-payment
We are trying to create a simple page where a client can just send $$ and then comment what it’s for.
Thanks.

ModeratorAs per the documentation, “The input fields will just show up in the shopping cart.”

ParticipantIm afraid it is not showing up in the cart. waterlabs.net/other-payment/ as it just has the customer enter a $$ amount, but not actually buy any products.
Could I have a shopping cart item where the customer inputs the amount?
Thanks,

ModeratorIs it possible to provide a link, to a product page; so that we can actually “add an item” to the cart, and then go to your checkout page? That’s the normal process, and it will give us a better idea of what’s happening.

Participantthis web page is for clients to make easy payments but not shop off the website. Ideally, they would describe what they are paying for at check out.

ModeratorIs there supposed to be any other fields on that page? If I enter an amount, and then click the button, I go to PayPal, and it shows the amount I entered.

ParticipantI don’t see my last response so I’ll reply again.
I would like it to have fields appear on it when someone enters an amount like on waterlabs.net/individual-tests

ModeratorThe page you are trying to make the fields appear on… it that actually a cart checkout page, from the plugin? Because the addon only works with a cart that has items in it.

ParticipantI should start over: I want the customer to be able to enter in a money amount of their choosing, then when they check out, they can enter information into a field. Basically, I’d like to figure out how to make it like a “donate” page but it’s a business not a donation. The customer would choose how much money.
Like I walk into a store and say “here is $5” and then I have to tell the clerk what the $5 is for in the comments.
There are no cart items. It’s just money being exchanged.

ParticipantI’d like to add “Pay What you want” type feature.
Like here… https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/tag/wp-shopping-cart/page/3 half way down the link

ModeratorThe “pay what you want” capability is only available in the eStore plugin. What you are trying to do is beyond the capabilities of the “Simple” Shopping Cart plugin.
