Hello,
First of all, I must congratulate you for such a marvellous pair of plugins for WordPress. My thrill is beyond expression. Before I could find your solution, I must have spent many a sleepless nights looking at all those expensive affiliate management solutions. Thank you so much for making it simple, affordable for small business and individuals like me.
I have a very specific question/request. The answer may be there already, however, I could not find it after looking for it for sometime.
At present, the code that is generated for the affiliates, is based on presumption that they are going to use it as a banner on their web site. Either text based link or banner graphics. For that the code generated works well.
However, I am trying to find a way to have affiliate links to static graphics created for marketing and advertising purposes, which they can use in Traffic Exchanges.
Let me give you example.
<a href="http://www.livetrafficnetwork.com/?rid=2942"><img src="http://www.livetrafficnetwork.com/getimg.php?id=1"></a>
Is the format you are offering now. Which works well if the affiliate has his/her own website.
What I am looking for is something like:
http://livetrafficnetwork.com/splashpage.php?splashid=1&rid=2942
This is typically used by most, if not all, affiliate marketeers to promote any offer.
Is there a way I can similar result? So I can create many more graphics/adverts for the affiliates to chose from. I don’t have to restrict to only those affiliates who have their own websites.
Please ask me for explanation, if I were not clear in my message. Thank you.
November 8, 2011 at 10:14 pm #38257adminKeymasterYou don’t have to create a text or banner ad for your affiliate to be able to send referral traffic to your site. Creating a simple affiliate link is easy.. this documentation will help you:
When you affiliate logs into their affiliate portal it will also show a simple affiliate link that they can use (this type of simple links are handy to use on external sites like twitter).

However, I think I missed to point out what I wanted.
I understand your reply very well. I can instruct the affiliates to use the simple link. However my idea/point is that I would like to create some static images. Let’s say more like splash page or a an advertisement graphics. A few different styles, a few different themes. This images, I would host on my server. Just like the banner ad. But bigger/larger graphics.
Right now, the three link options we get are:
1) Simple affiliate link
2) Text Link
3) Banner Link
The simple link will show the Store Page. Or which ever page I configure. That is only One page.
2) I can have several text links, but the code generated is good for using on a website. It is not one line code like the simple link.
3) Same reason as 2). It can be used on a website but not as a one line link.
I don’t know if you have ever seen how the traffic exchanges work/behave. Each member, on the exchange promotes their affiliate links. Typically the one line link, as I had given in example, shows a larger graphics, with affiliate id attached to it. Say it is like the 1) the simple link but displaying some attractive graphics instead of the actual page. The affiliate program owners offer various options in terms of graphics to choose from, so the affiliates can choose which ever suites them best and use that single line in their advertising campaigns on traffic exchanges.
Let me try to say it in other words. The 3) type of code generated but only as a single line, not as a code for posting on a web page. Does it make sense? Currently I am creating each single page graphics and attaching id’s of affiliates and sending them the links, individually. So far I have very few affiliates. I am worried about it when the number grows.
I want the users to be able to select which graphics they want to use for their campaign, as they are able to choose which banner they want or which text link they want.
I can understand you must be extremely busy. I am not rushing you. Just trying to help and offer a suggestion that can vastly improve the application of the Affiliate platform and make it more appealing to even larger audience. I wish I could contribute as a programmer but I am not a programmer. I can follow instructions and edit some code, that is all I can do.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you feel you need to ask me more question or to understand what I am saying, more clearly.
Thank you once again for your time in responding to my question.
