Everything worked. Clickthroughs, manage leads, sales notifications. I was very happy
I have wpestore, wpaffiliate, wpemember,
But my site preview page was outdated in Facebook and in Google search results. so I hired someone to update SEO settings on the site. I can now look back and realise that the clickthroughs stopped after he finished his work. This was about 16 hours ago. I know I have about 20 affiliates promoting the site like crazy as I see the new registrations in Activecampaign. So I know there are visits to the site that I should be able to track.
I think the person went overboard to over-deliver and I can only guess he’s installed and activated a conflicting plugin or two.
Do any of the below raise any obvious flags? I did check the list of conflicting plugins and none of them seem to be installed.
OptimizePress Sections Override
Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin
Remove Category URL
Remove Query Strings From Static Resources
Simple Sitemap
Yoast SEO
And once I resolve this issue, will the click throughs and other stats update to reflect what hasn’t been recorded over the last 15 hours?
The site is thepcossummit.com
An example tracking link is thepcossummit.com/2018 (That is a pretty link)

No.

As the employer, have you discussed the issue with him?

Don’t guess, ask the guy you hired. Seriously, you should. He may know the answer.
June 22, 2018 at 5:34 am #78037JaybeeghMemberThank you for your response, wzp. It was several hours before he came back to me because it was his night time and we are on different time zones. So I was trying work out possibilities till I heard from him.
His reply to confirm what his work entailed is:
We install following plugins for our Basic OnSite SEO.
– Yoast SEO
– SEO Advicer
– Simple Sitemap
– Remove Category URL
So now I know for sure which plugins he activated, and I have deactivated them but they made no difference.
So do I have to reinstall all the Tips and Tricks plugins? I am not a technical person and feel completely lost.
I am devastated about the lost stats. There is a lot of activity on my site at the moment and my affiliates are going to label me dishonest.
June 22, 2018 at 6:15 am #78038adminKeymasterI have no idea what was done to your site but let me look at things one by one. I just tested an affiliate click and the new affiliate click definitely worked fine. So if someone is sending affiliate clicks now, those should be tracking.
Next, lets look at the sale tracking. If you click on an affiliate link and then purchase something, do you get the commission tracking happening? Make sure to enable the debug option in all of our plugins before you do the test (so I can look at the log file afterwards).
June 23, 2018 at 6:59 pm #78039JaybeeghMemberHi admin,
Let me answer your questions first!
The clicks are not tracking in the most recent 20. Those results remain unchanged for hours, then update, but even with that, remain unchanged for another block of hours. That is new behaviour as I used to get correct by the minute data for the 20 most recent clicks.
Sales tracking is working! Instantly updated.
What I have noticed is that if I run a query on a date range, or run a query on a particular affiliate, it shows me up to the minute data for that. Same with Manage Leads.
I still have the 4 plugins related to the SEO work deactivated, including Yoast SEO
The good news is that sales are being tracked and recorded with no delay.
Sorry for the delay in responding. I’ve been monitoring for changes and each time, my answer changes when I notice something new.

You claim that if I clicked on an affiliate link that lands on your site; the click will not register, for some amount of time?
- Have you measured this amount of time, and is it consistent?
- Have you tried refreshing the page that displays the tracking statistics
June 25, 2018 at 2:34 am #78041adminKeymasterFrom your explanation it seems like all tracking is happening correctly so thats good. The only reasons (that I can think of) for the clicks to not show up immediately in the back-end would be if there is some kind of database caching happening on your site. Ask your hosting provider if they are doing database caching.
June 25, 2018 at 8:13 am #78042JaybeeghMemberThank you for the tip on adding the topic to my favourites.
I will ask my host provider about database caching.
Everything else is working great.
June 30, 2018 at 10:10 am #78043JaybeeghMemberThis was the response I got from my hosting company.
Your helpdesk ticket R1140608 regarding Database Caching, has been updated with the following reply:
Hello,
Thank you for your patience.
I have checked and can confirm that we do not use database caching on our any server. I have signed up with the affiliate link which you have provided and checked the WP affiliate plugin>> Click throughs data but it is not updating with the new entries. But when I checked the data by entering the date I can see each entry in the report.
It seems that there is some issue with the plugin. Please contact the plugin developers and informed them about this issue, if they suggest you some changes on the server end then let us know and we will assist you with it further.
July 1, 2018 at 12:34 pm #78044wzpModeratorAt this exact point in time, what changes are in place on your site; that did not previously exist, before the other guy started tinkering with it?
