Hi guys,
Thanks for this plugin; it sounds like a great idea for protecting our PDF products.
I’m configuring PDF Stamper with Clickbank, and I’m getting the error “Secret key or source file information is not present in the request” generated by the [pdf_stamper_clickbank_purchase] shortcode on my Thank You page.
Manual stamping works fine. I changed the secret keys to ones of my own choosing in the options screen; could this be the cause?
Thanks,
Graham
November 16, 2011 at 4:01 am #38554PeterMemberMake sure to use the same secret key that you specified in the settings menu of this product.
You may have to change your default destination directory in your plugin settings.
Somebody else had a similar issue which they solved by changing this. See last entry in this post:

November 21, 2011 at 7:50 am #38555greyhamMemberThanks for the reply Peter, but I’m confused; where else do I use or specify the secret key? I can’t see any mention of the secret key at http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wp-pdf-stamper/wp-pdf-stamper-and-clickbank-integration-144
Confused,
Graham
November 21, 2011 at 9:07 am #38556PeterMemberIt’s in the settings menu.
This page should help:

November 21, 2011 at 10:43 pm #38557greyhamMemberThanks for the reply Peter. I’m already aware of the secret key setting in the PDF Stamper Settings menu; my question is where _else_ do I need to specify the secret key? Is it passed from clickbank.com to the Thank You page? If so, I can’t find the place on clickbank.com to set it.
Thanks,
Graham
November 21, 2011 at 11:24 pm #38558adminKeymasterThat value is read from the settings menu so as long as you have a value in that field and you saved it, you don’t have to do anything else. I have a feeling your hosting does not allow CURL request to be sent to the same server which is why you are facing this issue. Can you please ask your hosting provider and find out if my assumption is correct?
November 22, 2011 at 1:38 am #38559greyhamMemberOk, let’s go back to basics here. Secret keys are used to secure and verify transactions across insecure channels. Both the sender and the receiver need to know the secret key. The sender uses it to encrypt stuff, and the receiver uses it to verify that the sender is trusted. In PDF Stamper, the receiver is told the key setting in the settings menu. Where is the sender (ClickBank in this case I presume) told the secret key? Or does the PDF Stamper Clickbank script read the key from the PDF Stamper settings as well?
I’ll ask my hosting provider about CURL requests. Manual stamping works fine; does it rely on CURL requests being sent to the same server? I’m using HostGator, a pretty popular hosting service. Your Minimum Requirements Checker plugin reports two ticks.
Thanks,
Graham
November 22, 2011 at 1:59 am #38560greyhamMemberUpdate: HostGator support tell me CURL needed to be enabled. They’ve done that now. I’ll test again and let you know how I go. Thanks, Graham
November 22, 2011 at 9:40 pm #38561greyhamMemberOK, I’ve just tested again with CURL enabled. I still get the error message “Secret key or source file information is not present in the request.” Help please!
Thanks,
Graham
November 22, 2011 at 10:22 pm #38562greyhamMemberWell this is weird; despite the error message, it does seem to send the email to the customer with the stamped link correctly. The Thank You page with the shortcode has the problem.
November 23, 2011 at 12:42 am #38563adminKeymasterWhat version of the PDF stamper you are using? Please copy and paste the exact error that it shows.
November 23, 2011 at 1:03 am #38564greyhamMemberI’m using version 4.0.5. The error message is:
Secret key or source file information is not present in the request.
November 23, 2011 at 4:05 am #38565greyhamMemberThe problem appears to be a conflict with the Simple Facebook Connect plugin, which has a habit of reading pages to generate OpenGraph tags. This was causing the file to be stamped twice and the second time was creating an error. When I disable the SFC plugin, I see the $pdf_stamper_clickbank_success_message. I’ve left a message for the SFC author to see if there is a way to disable this feature; it’s caused me some grief with a few other plugins as well.
With that fixed, is it possible to have the [pdf_stamper_clickbank_purchase] shortcode generate the links to the stamped files so users can download directly from the Thank You page? When I put {product_link} in $pdf_stamper_clickbank_success_message it doesn’t get replaced with the product link.
Cheers,
Graham
November 23, 2011 at 5:37 am #38566greyhamMemberI’ve asked the Simple Facebook Connect author about this; check out his reply in this thread on the WordPress support forums:
Any comment?
Thanks,
Graham
November 23, 2011 at 10:28 pm #38567adminKeymasterI will look into it and see if there is anything I can do in the PDF Stamper. I sent you an email regarding testing out a version with ClickBank link security secret key… did you receive that email?
