Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP eMember › Changing Permalink Breaks Plugin Generated Links
I’m using WP 3.6 and WP eMember 8.7.0 and I tried to change the permalinks to more friendly ones with /%postname%/ but when I did all the links generated by the plugin like login page or register page couldn’t be found. When I deleted the permalink change it worked fine, but looks ugly with /page_id=7 instead of /register. Also if I used the <–more–> to protect content, when I clicked the continue link it got lost instead of showing the rest of the content to logged in members. When I remove the permalink it works.
Is there a way to use nicer permalinks?
I would link to examples, but I changed it back so I could continue working on the content.
Changing permalink should not be an issue. Usually, the old permalink automatically redirects to the new one. For example: we use the pretty permalink on our site but if you enter the following URL, it will automatically redirect to the pretty URL:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/?p=1706
Not sure why that is not working on your site by default.
Anyway, you can simply edit eMember’s settings and update all the page URL values in there. Go to eMember settings -> Pages/Forms Settings
menu. Then update the URL of the eMember pages to use your new permalink and you should be good to go.
