Hello,
I tried following Option 2, the copy method from this post: http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/how-to-changecustomize-the-url-of-the-affiliate-view-42
but I think I am running into an issue somewhere.
Here is my URL structure: http://subdomain.domain.com/dallas
I would love to have the affiliate login be located at either one of these locations if possible:
http://subdomain.domain.com/affiliates/login.php
or
http://subdomain.domain.com/dallas/affiliates/login.php
Here is what i did:
1) I logged into my FTP Client and went to dallas/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-platform and copied the folder “wp-affiliate-platform”
2) I went to dallas/ and pasted the wp-affiliate-platform folder in this folder
3) I then went to dallas/wp-affiliate-platform/affiliates folder and found the misc_func.php and edited to include_once(‘../wp-load.php’)
Needless to say i dont know what i am doing and it failed.
Any help would be appreciated
If you go over the steps again you will see it tells you to copy the “affiliates” directory not the “wp-affiliate-platform” directory. So please redo your step 1 and you will get there.
I am wanting to use method two to change the affiliate login url, but I do not understand any of the explanations I have read.
Where do I find the affiliates directory?
Please look inside the “wp-affiliate-platform” plugin directory and you will see that there is another directory named “affiliates”. Let me know if that helps.
Hi Sorry for taking so long to get back. And sorry for my next question. How do I look inside the wp-affiliate-platform plugin directory?
You can use an FTP program such as “FileZilla”. If you are not familiar with a FTP software then I would recommend you use “option 2” to create your affiliate area as it will let you embed it inside a WordPress page. So you will have freedom of customizing the URL of that page from WordPress page editor:
