MemberI noticed some issues with login behavior on my site tonight.
I can login fine (normal username/password) from login.php.
When logged in, my status on the login widget does show that I am logged in.
When I attempt to login through the widget with the same username/password combo, it throws an “incorrect password” error.
I am using WordPress 3.1 and eMember 6.12 at http://www.youremployeehandbook.com
Do I need an upgrade to eMember?
Thanks!

Participantby “login.php” do you mean the WordPress’s login form? eMember has no association with WordPress’s login form. Does the user (you are trying to log in as) belong to eMember’s members list?

MemberSorry for the delay in responding — been sick.
Referring to the WP eMember login widget in the sidebar not the regular WP login page.

ParticipantCan you please give me the details of a test member account so I can try the login. I only see the login widget in the sidebar when I go to your site. What is the URL of the “login.php” that you speak of.
Also, it is not a bad idea to just get a fresh build of the plugin from here in the meantime:

MemberHere’s a test account.

By “login.php” I mean the standard WordPress login page, bypassing the widget, which is how I normally login to administer the site. Members login this way if they bookmark the login page.

I’ve requested a current build and will install as soon as I receive it.
Thanks.

ParticipantWP eMember only checks it’s members database for log in validation. I am guessing you changed the password of this user from the WordPress’s user profile. If you use eMember you should use eMember’s password changer so it can update the details on both database (emember and the wordpress user database). Can you please pull up the profile for this member in eMember then update the password with the following then test the login via the eMember widget?

MemberThat makes a lot of sense, and something I always forget. I will make that change and test it.
Thanks!

MemberJust did this and it fixed the problem. I’ll remember to do member updates through eMember, rather than WP.
Thanks!
