    We have 5 member levels:

    ID 2: Coaches & Administrators

    ID 3: Level I Writing

    ID 4: Level I Comprehension

    ID 5: Level I Vocabulary

    ID 6: Super Admin

When we register a new user – the levels display in reverse order in the dropdown list:

Super Admin <– default, selected automatically

    Level I Vocabulary

    Level I Comprehension

    Level I Writing

    Coaches & Administrators

We need to flip this so that Coaches & Administrators is first (and, ideally, Super Admin is last). 99% of our members are Coaches & Administrators but by having the first and default option as Super Admin it’s too easy for us to accidentally assign them the role of Super Admin.

How can we resolve this so Coaches & Administrators is the first/default option?

The level dropdown shows the recent entry as the first option. This can’t be changed. You can do the following:

    1) Create a NEW membership level called “Coaches & Administrators New” or something like that.

    2) This will now be the first option in your level dropdown.

    3) Apply this level to all the content when you had level ID 2.

    4) When you are satisfied that the protection has been applied for the new level to existing content correctly, then you can delete level 2 and use the new level going forward.

    5) Rename the new level back to “Coaches & Administrators” by editing the level from the membership level menu.

    Thanks.

We have around 2,300 members who are currently Coaches & Administrators – is there an easy way to bulk move them to the new level?

Yes, go to the following interface which lets you move the members to a new level easily:

WP eMember -> Admin Functions -> Bulk Operation -> Bulk Update Membership Level of Members
