I just installed eMember but my admin account can’t see the members-only content. I saw the function to pull in existing WP members which sounded perfect for what I need to do but when I submit this, nothing happens and no WP users are transferred. What do I do next? It also will not let me re-create the admin account. It tells me the account already exists. Catch-22
Thanks.
January 10, 2012 at 3:54 am #40542adminKeymasterYou don’t need to recreate the admin account. The existing one should work fine. After you do the import in the “Import WP Users” menu and go to the manage members menu you don’t see the admin user listed there right? What version of WordPress are you using? What version of eMember are you using? Have you recently upgraded your eMember plugin?
January 10, 2012 at 2:07 pm #40543tbrantiganMemberI’m using WP 3.3.1 and whatever was on your site yesterday as far as eMember is concerned. I do the import but then when I go to the members page, the two WP users I have aren’t listed. Where in the MySql database is the user stored and I will simply do it from the back end.
Also, I noticed that the Book Mark feature doesn’t seem to work. What I get is a simple text in the post saying “Bookmark”?
January 10, 2012 at 2:19 pm #40544tbrantiganMemberFor now, I’m ok on the username issue. I went directly to the database and changed the one account I had to be admin, my email address, and status of active. So other than to let you know there is a problem. I’m not going to worry about it at this point.
The bookmark issue is still a problem.
January 11, 2012 at 4:02 am #40545adminKeymasterYou didn’t answer the following two questions that I asked earlier:
What version of eMember are you using? Have you recently upgraded your eMember plugin?
January 11, 2012 at 12:19 pm #40546tbrantiganMemberYes, I did in my first response:
“I’m using WP 3.3.1 and whatever was on your site yesterday as far as eMember is concerned. I do the import but then when I go to the members page, the two WP users I have aren’t listed.”
In my later post, I also mentioned that I used MySql command line to get the admin account into eMember so at this point, I don’t need to pursue this further — at least until I run into the situation again, if I ever do. I have turned Bookmarks off to eliminate the strange text at the beginning of the summary posts.
January 12, 2012 at 4:25 am #40547adminKeymasterSome days we do multiple builds of the plugins so it helps if we know the exact build number of the plugin that you are using. Anyway, if you are happy with what you have then we will stop this thread here.
