I’m curious how much influence we have over the text that appears in the download message sent via E-Mail.
I sell eBooks in specific formats. Customer feedback has taught me to always offer a PDF copy in addition to the eBook format which may be in either EXE or CHM. These are packaged as a zip.
The thing is, the EMail message is a bit generic and seems to list Part 1 and Part 2. I was hoping to change this so it read differently. Perhaps Part 1 would be changed to read eBook format (EXE or CHM) and Part 2 would be changed to read PDF format.

The option you are using is for a multi-part file download option.
Try the packaged product option where you can create one product which is your “.zip” file (give the product any name that you prefer). Then create another product that offers the “.pdf” file (give it any name you prefer). Now create a 3rd product that uses the previously created products as packaged product and offer this one for sale.
Now when you customers buy this 3rd product they will receive links for product 1 and 2 and the product names of 1 and 2 will be used rather than “Part 1”, “Part 2” …
