Tagged: downloads, Random Code
I’m trying to set up my first store. I have very large downloads to sell.
When people buy, the downloads sometimes stop in the middle
so I changed to Amazon S3 to serve the files
Now, it it doesn’t want to unzip…
However, when I send them the direct link (straight to amazon) it downloads and unzips fine.
Do I need the “random code” now that I’m using Amazon?
Any help would be great
The random code is definitely needed for generating an encrypted link.
If you were having issues downloading the file from your own server than changing it to S3 won’t help as the plugin will still stream the file and will temporarily require RAM on your server. This page explains more:
How big is the file and what sort of hosting plan do you have (I am more interested in the RAM availability included in your hosting plan)?
Hi amin
My files are around 800 meg each… and there are usually 2 downloads.
I’m having a bigger problem now… the links and the email are not even being delivered.
The Paypal transaction is going through but that’s it. No aweber follow up (it’s worked before) and not “here’s the link you just paid for”.
I thought I was closer to being able to make the site live… any ideas?
Kevin
Hi Kevin, Can you pleas do a test transaction with the debug turned on. Viewing the log file will give us a better idea about what is happening.
The following post explains more about the debug.
