I’m thinking about opening up a free membership option for my site, but worried about spammers and scammers. Are people preventing from repeated signups? Can they sign up for the free membership multiple times, or are they prevented by ip?
Each email address can have only one “Membership Account” so if a user already has a membership on your site with “jon.doe@gmail.com” email address then he can’t sign up with that same email address. You can selectively block member signup based on IP address or email address from the Manage Blacklist tab.
