Tagged: link shortner
Hi,
For some reason two of my clients did not receive download links after they purcased products (different ones). I have sold several different products thru eStore and it seems to work fine except those two cases. I was able to generate new encrypted download link by using eStore admin funcion for the first of those clients, but not for the other.
“The second client reported that she got the following message after the purchase:
The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.
Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:
The download script couldn’t locate the file associated with the digital product. If the administrator thinks this reason is in error, maybe a different URL conversion option might fix the problem”
yet I have successfully sold this same product earlier and I dont remember making any changes for the products nor for its download URL.
If I type the URL where the product is located to the browser it downloads just fine.
I tried to generate new ecnrypted download link for it, but when I tested the link I got the same error message as the client did.
I even created new, identical (“backup”) product for this product (with new ID) and tested the link generation with that but it does not work any better.
I am able to generate link for any other product and it works, but this one does not.
What could be the issue here…?
Taika
Hi Taika,
Firstly please go through this checklist:
Downloaded file size is 0 (Zero) byte or 404 error or Other file download error
Then do what this post says and share the “download_manager_debug.log” debug file’s content here:
