I’m getting a fairly high proportion of customers telling me they can download from the encrypted links but then the files won’t open. If I send them the unencrypted links by email, these work.
I would prefer to use the unencrypted links in the original email and take my chances with piracy issues, in order to avoid unhappy customers.
Can I do that?
Thanks
Jerry

You should be able to figure out what is going wrong with the encrypted link download on your setup by going through this checklist:

March 13, 2013 at 8:16 am #54367AnonymousInactiveSorry I think this isn’t exactly what I meant. What I’d like is for WPestore to generate an automatic email to purchasers as it does now but instead of an encrypted link they see the direct link to the file on my server. I don’t actually want to email them manually. I just want the links not to be encrypted. Make sense?
March 13, 2013 at 11:38 am #54368PeterMemberThe link itself will always be encrypted in the sense that just by simply looking at it, it will not be obvious where the file is located.
However if you disable the “Downloadable” checkbox as suggested above, your users will be taken to the actual URL which contains the file they will download (so it works just like a direct link).
March 13, 2013 at 4:35 pm #54369AnonymousInactiveThanks for helping. Apologies if my lack of experience here is leading me astray. I tested by unchecking “downloadable” for one of my free products and also one of my chargeable products. (The free one uses the squeeze form.) Then I bought the chargeable one and requested the free one.
The email for the free one came to my inbox with an encrypted link, and I received no email at all for the chargeable one (although the Paypal transaction went through). I then rechecked “Downloadable” for that product and re-tested it and it and the email arrived.
I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. These are downloadable products I’m offering.
March 13, 2013 at 10:56 pm #54370adminKeymasterThe “downloadable” option has no bearing in the email delivery process. Something else had to go wrong for you to not the email after purchase. Please uncheck that option again. Now, enable debug in eStore plugin and do a test transaction so we can see what else is going wrong. This post will explain how to enable debug:
