Can I place Test Orders for my download and streaming products?

I’d like to be able to place test orders when I add a new digital download or streaming product to my site, to make sure everything is working properly.

I’ve tried to set the price of a new product to zero, so I’m not actually paying to place these test orders, and having to refund myself. When I set the price to zero, however, it takes me to Manual Checkout. Is there a way to set the price to zero and have it go through the normal store checkout, like my customers experience?

I use Paypal Payments Pro for my credit card processor.

Once you get it working the first time, all checkouts and order placements work the same. If you’ve tested the checkout process once; there is not need to keep doing it for each product. So, the only things that really need validation testing when you add products are:

1. Do they appear in the cart correctly?

   That’s easy to test, just click “Add to Cart” and make sure the totals are correct.

2. Are the correct links generated?

   This can be tested using the Admin Functions to manually generate links for the product.
