Hi There,
This feels like a dumb question, but have searched and searched for a previous question and found none.
I want to streamline the registration process for customers and reduce a step or two.
When they purchase my physical product( which I ship), I would like them to be redirected immediately(and logged in) to the support page which is a free membership for purchasers of my product.
Is this possible?
And… they will receive the email with username/password with confirmation of details.
This saves the back and forth of entering multiple forms (one for the purchase and then one for the membership registration)… waiting for an email to arrive… etc. Too many steps in my honest opinion.
Thanks for your help.
September 21, 2012 at 11:30 pm #49533adminKeymasterPlease tell me which registration scenario you are using (see the documentation below) and I will be able to tell you how to optimize that more:

September 24, 2012 at 12:49 am #49534paulcookMemberI’ve checked all of these scenarios and none actually fit my business.
I don’t want customers slowed down by requiring registration before purchase.
I don’t want customers required to click links, check their email program etc just before they’re about to give me credit card details… that’s just strange stuff to ask a potential customer. (or “required” to fulfil any requirement before I get their payment)
If their credit card payment clears, so should their registration to the member’s section. It should be automatically approved because they’ve just given me their private and confidential CC number. Why would I ask them to jump another hoop at my end?
So, in a nutshell my website requires:
“Buy Now” button that directs straight to a “checkout/collect-details” page. The number of items at the top, the form data collection of name/address/payment details AND username/pass. One submit button for the lot and a redirect upon successful payment back to the member’s section… logged in.
I use Eway and expect that they have enough technology to return payment info so that all of the above is possible in real-time.
Hope this makes sense.
Can it be done?
cheers Paul
September 24, 2012 at 3:26 am #49535adminKeymasterFrom your explanation I can see that using scenario number#3.1 should work.
Once a user has an account on your site via eMember (this will be a free signup) and is logged into the site then when they go to checkout, the user’s details are automatically filled in (the data is taken from the user’s existing profile).
So this is how it work:
1) You make every user signup on your site once. Take all the details you want from them via the eMember registration form. This registration for a user account is free.
2) Now, when this user is logged into the site and goes to checkout (using eStore), the order processing form will automatically be populated with all the details from this user’s profile (you collected all this details at the time of registration).
