Can eMember be used to book live web video broadcast

We have an active eMember/eStore system working. We want to extend it so that an existing member can book one of a limited number of places on a live streamed video lesson.

The plan is to publish the date and time of a live lesson stating the maximum number of participants, members will request to join the lesson with an acknowledgement being sent, those that are approved will be sent the link that will be a single use. The live broadcast will use the RTMP protocol where the studio, the video distribution hub and the WordPress site are on 3 different servers that are not co-located.

My questions are:

Has anyone done this type of application

If so please can they give us any guidance

Were any other plug-ins used

Yes, it has been done in the past. Use the forum search page, and search for “live streaming” or variants of “live PPV” to see what has been done, over the years. After you find the appropriate usage case, that most closely represents what you want; we can offer more specific suggestions.
