Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP Affiliate Platform › Can define an ad description, but it is not displayed to affiliates
Hi,
My affiliate model is to offer affiliate commissions on a product by product basis, therefore the default commission level is 0 and I set the product commission in eStore.
However I want to tell the affiliate in the Affiliate Center what commision they will get. I typed this into the Admin area while setting up an ad into the description field, but this is not displayed anywhere.
Am I missing something or is this a tweak?
Alec
Being impatient I have tweaked the ads.php file to include the description as a 4th column and also included a variable in the eng.php file.
I have put the header as “Commission” and just put the commission amount in the Ad description in the admin settings. So it just shows – 10% next to the Code box.

Ad description is for admin only (its like a note for you) so it is not displayed to the affiliate. What you have done is fine for your setup.
Hi – I would like to know how to do the above so the description shows to the affiliates. I need to provide more information as to how to use each different banner or ad.
Can you tell me what exactly I can do (I am a novice and don’t know much about code) so I too can show the description to my affiliates?
Thanks in advanced. Jodie
The description can’t be shown to the users because most people use it as an admin note. We can maybe do a custom job for you to tweak it. You can use the following form if you are interested:

Also, You could potentially add a little explanation in the name field of the ad if it works for you.
