Hi. I am using both Paypal and Authorise.net to process payments. I have no problems with Paypal – all works well. However with Authorize.net I have two problems.
The first is that the Buyer’s e-mail is not received. It is with Paypal so I know that it is working through that account. The buyer receives the receipt after payment and the seller receives the merchant seller receipt. But there is no buyer’s confirmation e-mail. I have tried with both plain and HTML text and with the wordpress mailing system switched on and off. No difference.
Secondly, after the transaction has been completed I am returned to the ‘thank you’ landing page back at my web site. However the formatting of the page is different (as though the page has gone into a safe mode). The text is all there and so are the menu options but the text sizes and menu locations are different. Again this does not happen when completing the transaction through paypal. Any ideas ? Appreciate your assistance.
Looks like the authorize.net’s payment notification is not working. The first thing you need to address is the thank you page. Authorize.net requires the thank you page to be in HTTPS (otherwise it shows the behavior you explained). Do you have SSL installed on your site?
