In a test of the eStore my client purchases a digital product (mp3) for 1.99 and a physical product (book) for 14.99.
In the email he received it added the $3.50 shipping for the book to the digital product in the {product_details}. SEE BELOW
Would the work around be using
{product_name} {product_price}?
If so is there a email tag for shipping amount?

The {product_details} tag can’t add shipping unless it received the notification that had shipping in it. Are you sure the shipping didn’t get added by the PayPal profile based shipping? Can you please post a link to the page where you have this two products?

The {product_details} is working but it added the shipping to the digital item not the physical item but only in the buyer email.
If you purchase an mp3 (the same one as in the test) no shipping is added and the buyer email says {product_details} 1.99.
If you buy the same mp3 and a book (has base shipping of $3 plus 0.50 item shipping) the buyer email {product_details} says

It adds the shipping of 3.50 to the digital product.

To add…there is no profile based shipping in paypal (deleted it). Correct shipping is charged on the physical product (book) and passed to paypal.

The only issue is in the buyer email where it added the shipping cost of 3.50 to the 1.99 mp3 price. If it had added it to the book it wouldn’t be an issue.

My client gets home from vacation today. I would love to have this resolved.
If putting {product_name} {product_price} is the only way I need to know.
Can you please enable the debug and make a test transaction with the two items? Also please share the content of the debug file after the transaction.

Long story short. The “shipping” variable does not seem to be working as stated in PayPal’s API guide. I had to find it out from one of their forums (not sure why they don’t update the official API guide).
Anyway, I have done some changed to the eStore plugin which should get around this issue you are having. Please get the new build of eStore from here:
I did bothe automated and the manual update request…I have received no emails either way. (not in my junk email either)
Finally got the link, updated, and tested.
The shipping is no longer added to the digital item. Thank you.
