Hello,
I started using the bulk import feature in the plugin by uploading ZIP files to the bulk_import folder but I’m having a problem. OS X ZIP files compress with a hidden directory and files that are used by OS X for the resource fork and the bulk import tool reports that I cannot have folders inside the zip file but I don’t find a ZIP program that doesn’t create the resource fork folder. It would be much easier if you programmed the plugin to ignore the folder inside OS X ZIP files that is called “MAC OS X” and sometimes “_MAC OS X” since this “folder” can be safely ignored. Until then the bulk import feature is flawed.
Thanks
Ok thanks for the info. We will investigate how we can improve the behaviour of that feature.
Thanks, let us know if we can help.
I sent you a zip file with an update for this feature.
Please let me know when you have tried it.
Peter,
I just tried this feature on OS X also and it doesn’t work. Says there is 2 files in folder, actually there is 54 images is all. Doesn’t import any photos at all. Can you send me the file with an update?
I am trying to utilize the bulk import feature on OS X and having the same issue. The zip files are in the correct directory, but the plugin says there are only 2 files in the folder. Then it does’t actually import any files at all. Was there ever a resolution to this problem?
the plugin says there are only 2 files in the folder
You need to put the photos in the root of the zip file – are you doing that?
Yes. No subfolders in the zip file.
Send me your zip file via email – or if it’s too big can you make a similar one using the same technique but with only a handful of photos so I can test it on my site.
