Is there any way to give a “bulk discount” when people purchase multiple items? Say they purchase 10 books, the price/shipping would drop to a lower amount, maybe another price break at 25 copies, etc.
January 6, 2011 at 5:16 pm #27784TrendsettingMemberI suppose another way to do this is to have a minimum quantity box.
January 7, 2011 at 4:55 am #27785amin007ParticipantYou can use the “Total Quantity” -> “Is greater than” conditional coupon.
January 7, 2011 at 8:02 pm #27786TrendsettingMemberCan a coupon apply to the shipping as well as the price?
January 8, 2011 at 3:58 am #27787amin007ParticipantNope but you can have free shipping coupons.
January 8, 2011 at 5:55 am #27788TrendsettingMemberBut you can’t have multiple coupons. How could I discount shipping and the price of a product if they were to buy bulk?
January 8, 2011 at 10:09 pm #27789IvyMemberHi, What about using the variation option. You can have it so the variations adds to the price.
Example:
You have 1 product at the base price say $10.00
Then you have a variations for 2 products that adds $5.00 this would = 2 products for $15.00
Then have a 3 product variation that adds $7.50 this would = 3 products for $17.50
You can read more about variations here:
Then you could also use the shipping discount.

February 14, 2011 at 4:35 am #27791amin007ParticipantWhat will this minimum quantity box do? Where do you see fit for this box to appear?
February 14, 2011 at 5:12 am #27792TrendsettingMemberWell, the number purchased must be at least a certain amount before a price would kick in. When you click “add to cart” it would have the minimum quantity instead of “1” which is the current default. There would be no way the Quantity value could be lower than the Minimum quantity. That way, I could set a unit price for bulk orders. You could add the box right next to the “product Price” on the add/edit products page.
An even better solution would be to have a maximum quantity for that price as well, so you could offer different levels of discount for the same product.
My example is buying a book…for buying 1-14 copies, the price would be $25 + tax + $5 shipping per book.
If you bout 15+ books the price would be $20/book + tax + $2 shipping per book
If there was a min and max, I could have a price for maybe 50+ books even cheaper, but still based on a single price and shipping per book.
February 14, 2011 at 5:15 am #27793TrendsettingMemberRight now, I can see it being a separate product in the db, 15+ books (product name), $20 (product Price), $2 shipping, 15 (minimum quantity).
This would allow me to set up the single click for the shopping cart, I could just create a list of entries like on this page…

November 6, 2012 at 8:26 pm #27794echristopherMemberIs there a way to setup pricing tiered?
Say 11-20 items, x% discount and so on…. Need this for a new client working on soon, they want to be able to offer bulk pricing for large quantities of an eBook.
Thanks.
Erik
November 7, 2012 at 5:05 am #27795adminKeymasterNo, we don’t have have an option for that. You can only do a bulk discount for when a user purchase more that X quantity.
November 8, 2012 at 3:19 pm #27796echristopherMemberThanks admin, much appreciated. Best I can find is probably the coupon function with discount, but sadly it looks like you can’t do a range, say apply discount to quantity range of 11-25 unless I am missing something?
November 9, 2012 at 2:46 am #27797adminKeymasterYes, you care correct. There is no option to do a discount based on “quantity range”.
