Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP Lightbox Ultimate › Browser opening video in YouTube, despite Lightbox Ultimate
Until about 2 weeks ago, I was using WP Video Lightbox (the free version) and it worked fine.
Then, any clicks on Lightbox-tagged video began re-directing the browser straight to youtube.com. In other words, the lightbox does not appear “inline” in the website page. I upgraded to Ultimate and reworked the embedded text to be compatible with Ultimate’s different syntax, but no improvement. When clicking the video, you actually see a lightbox very briefly “try” to form inline (as expected) but it fails and re-directs to youtube.com.
1) I’ve also tried disabling all other video-related plugins
2) checked the Inspector Console for Javascript errors on the page (I don’t see any)
3) confirmed the same behavior occurs with Safari on Mac (I’m using Chrome on Win10)
4) cleared all youtube-related cookies.
5) we have confirmed that all videos posted to youtube have “allow embedding” enabled/checked
6) all our video links exhibit this same behavior, but here’s one of them: [https://pract.us/getting-started/]
I’m on WP 4.7.5. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. –Mike
Hi, Were you able to identify the issue? It seems to be working fine for me now (Tested in Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge).
It is working now, but we honestly don’t know why. After submitting our problem to the forum, we haven’t touched the WP site. Perhaps something updated behind the scenes and removed or fixed a plug-in conflict. But thank you for looking at this.
