hi guys:
i wanted to know if there was any chance to add the thumbnail to the list of the wp-emember bookmarks.
Would be really lovely if the bookmark page was sharable with friends somehow…
February 2, 2013 at 10:00 pm #53515adminKeymasterCan you please explain what you mean by the following. Where is this thumbnail going to come from? Where exactly will this thumbnail get displayed?
add the thumbnail to the list of the wp-emember bookmarks
The bookmarks of a member is only for that particular member only at this time.
February 15, 2013 at 6:57 pm #53516rvlawrenceMemberFor the thumbnail I think he is referring to the images on the posts. Having the bookmark plugin automatically pull in a small thumbail for the post to show up next to the link. The one set by the author at time post is created or the first image in a post.
It would also be great to be able to show a small excerpt of the post.
I think this would be a great feature to have and would add more value to the bookmarking area, something no other membership plugin has. You would be able to customize it however one wants to. Just title, title + excerpt, and have thumbnail or not.
March 20, 2013 at 8:38 pm #53517Fulvio RomaninMemberyes that was it. Simple as that. Plus, it’d be lovely if user A could share his favourites on facebook: if somehow the favourite list could have been made public
March 21, 2013 at 9:57 pm #53518Fulvio RomaninMemberis there any way to pick up the thumbnail then?
March 22, 2013 at 4:27 am #53519adminKeymasterThe post ID is stored so anything related to that post should also be retrievable. The question is how are you saving the post thumbnail? Different themes does it differently so eMember can’t magically know how your theme does it and show the thumbnail. Anything that is part of the standard WordPress post structure, emember can handle because it will be same on all the sites but if you have a theme specific functionality then emember can’t handle that because other sites won’t use the same theme.
March 22, 2013 at 3:57 pm #53520Fulvio RomaninMemberthat’s great to know. I am using usual featured images so that’d be pretty easy. The point is: i probably need to know how to alter the shortcode function (or to create a php loop myself somewhere) to add the post_thumbnail function in the display.
Can you point me out on that, please?

March 25, 2013 at 11:26 pm #53522adminKeymasterHi, Look in the “eMember_bookmark_utils.php” file of eMember for the bookmark list code. The following function is what outputs the bookmarks list:
print_eMember_bookmark_list
If you are not a coder yourself then you will definitely need help with coding. This option maybe helpful in that case:
March 26, 2013 at 6:56 am #53523Fulvio RomaninMemberi am a bit of a coder but i’ll consider it in case i can’t face it. Thanks for the hint.
Final question: it would be lovely if user A could publish on facebook or so his personal bookmark list.
Is this public somehow? can it be made such somehow? That would be a GREAT feature: think about it in a shop context; something like “this is my wishlist”, or in a fashion site.
Thanks in advance.
