Someone bought a photoset in our store,

the Blacklist Manager Addon’s event log tells me,

that this customer’s purchase has been blocked because his email address matched my blacklist.

But nevertheless, his purchase through PayPal came through!

    How can this be possible?

If the IP address is a match for a blacklisted user then it can stop it on the way to PayPal (before the transaction). If the blacklisting is done by email then that stop can ONLY happen after the plugin receives an email to check. When you are allowing anonymous checkout, how will the addon magically know the email address of a visitor? It only receives an email address after a paypal transaction so it will stop any processing of downloads for that user. The payment will simply need to be refunded. The user doesn’t get the download if the email is a match (so you don’t lose anything).

The main purpose of the blacklist addon is to stop sending any download to a user who is blacklisted.

Is there any way to prevent that the customers in our eStore check out anonymously??

If you are using a membership plugin like eMember, you can protect the store pages; so that they must be logged in, to shop. Just require them to register for a free membership; for the sake of knowing who they are. And if you ever decide to blacklist a particular member, then they can’t login. This is an accepted business practice… you need to log into Amazon, Etsy or eBay in order to purchase items. You have the choice of protecting ALL of your store pages, or just the checkout page only; as Amazon, eBay, et al allow you to fill up your cart; but require a login to checkout.
