Brand new. I’ve spent weeks trying to find a decent theme, and a set of plugins that’ll work to make a simple photo selling site, so I sure HOPE this thing lives up to the hype. I read rule 3, and I don’t think I’m violating it, but it reads sufficiently rigid and inflexible that I’m not sure. If so, let me know and I’ll request a refund and scrap this whole idea.
What I’d like to find is a GOOD, FREE theme that will work well with this plugin. I presume there are some that integrate photo seller better than others, and I’d prefer not to waste another month wading through a bunch of junk.
I’d like a banner image across the top of the page, and the navigation menu under that. Other than that, just a big space to put in stuff. No sidebars – or that can be turned off. The site is to display images, have people select images, and buy prints or downloads. No blogs, no surveys, no polls, no comments, no other BS.
Recommendations?
April 1, 2016 at 11:13 pm #72922PeterMemberI think that your constraint of having a “free” theme might be a bit limiting for you.
What do you think of our demo? Would that theme be something which you might like? (note – it’s not free. It’s a premium theme from studiopress)

April 2, 2016 at 4:14 am #72923adminKeymasterWe don’t really have a list of themes to use because our target is to make the plugin work with any theme out there. There will be some poorly coded theme that just doesn’t work but other than that the photo seller plugin should work with any theme. So it is really upto you as to which theme you want to use.
If you only want to use a free theme then browse the WordPress’s themes gallery and check the preview to see which one you like.
I personally like the WordPress’s default themes (if I had to pick a free theme).
April 2, 2016 at 12:18 pm #72924GracieAllenMemberI must confess, I went looking for a theme where I found the plugin because I thought I could be confident it would work, but I didn’t find any – which is not your fault – it’s more me still being woefully ignorant and not finding things.
As long as the plugin will work happily with most themes, I’ll probably stay with what I’ve got since I can at least get rid of a lot of the extraneous junk and just have images.
Thanks for the response.
April 2, 2016 at 12:49 pm #72925wzpModeratorThe primary job of a theme is to control how a site looks (without any other plugins); and the primary job of a plugin is to control what a site does (regardless of what themes are used). Here’s an article that best describes the difference:
