Benefit of Using eStore with eMember?

Wondering if someone can explain the benefits of using eStore with eMember vs. just using eMember alone? I’m getting ready to launch a membership site and would like to get it set up right in the beginning.

Do you plan to sell content or products, with your site? If you do, then you would benefit from also having eStore:

Even if you are just “giving away” files to your members, you can also benefit from having eStore. For instance; with just eMember, members who download files know where on the server the files are located. With eStore, you can use encrypted download links to mask the actual file location, or even limit the number of times a file can be downloaded.

Also, eStore has a native Amazon S3 integtation feature; that allows you to serve large downloads to your members, without burdening the capacity of your own server.

Finally, the eStore APR (Authenticated Page Redirect) feature allows you to sell one-off access to digital content (pages and/or posts).

Of course, you can always just start out with eMember only and add eStore later. Integration between the two is practically automagic, and can be done at any time in the future.

Thanks much for the quick response. I’m working on a membership site that will mostly provide information products in the form of videos and pdf’s.
