Are there any general instructions? I do not see anywhere that affiliates would sign themselves up. Do I have to set up their accounts? Thank you
After you setup the affiliate plugin it becomes a self serving platform for your potential affiliates. Essentially some of your visitors will see your great products and services then sign up for an affiliate and promote it. All you need to do is make your visitors aware that you have an affiliate program in place. As an example, you can see what we do in our site:
That’s good – I just don’t see a place for them to click on and sign themselves up. Not sure if I have to get the info out of them and enter it myself. thanks,
You make your affiliate program/campaign page in WordPress so you can place anything you like there. Simply place a link to the affiliate join us page.
You can also place the “Affiliate Login” widget to your sidebar which has a link to signup page.
This most recent answer may apply to the affiliate link for customers for WordPress, but I am thinking of affiliates who bring customers to my site. Does your answer apply to that? (I bought the WP Affiliate plug in from you). Thanks. I see how I can add a new affliate, but don’t see how to set up a way for them to sign themselves up. Thanks,
Go through the video tutorials and it will show you (the 5th video will cover what you are after):
1. Create a WordPress page called “Affiliate Training” (this is just an example).
2. Place all the training/tutorial videos and any other training material in this page.
3. Take the URL of this page and place it somewhere inside the “Index Page Message” field of the affiliate plugin settings.
This way every affiliate will see that there are training materials and go over those if they want to. Most affiliate marketers know what to do so they usually do not need training material (they only need the banner/links for your products).
