Just so I’m clear, the WP Store and Member plugin doesn’t do an automatic upgrade from the wordspress panel? We have to reinstall this all over again? If so, this won’t keep all my settings right?

None of your settings or product data will get lost when you upgrade the plugins (just like any other WordPress plugin upgrade)
