Hey Guys,
Unfortunately, editing and saving the auto-upgrade email notification template did not seem to do the trick. No members received the notification.
I filled out the site access form you emailed me. If you guys could take a look when you get a chance I would be really grateful. Thanks so much!
January 9, 2012 at 12:07 am #40116bernardMemberHello
I have read all the posts here and I am in the same situation than Browndog.
Edited the email template either.. Pushed through a cron tool the update..
Nothing. No email sent to any user.
I put the autoPromote options on 1 day to test and neither : no email sent.
Any help ?
January 9, 2012 at 6:54 pm #40117bernardMemberI have updated to 7.5.4 WpMember and still NO EMAIL NOTIFICATION.
Please any help ?
Thanks
January 10, 2012 at 1:57 am #40118PeterMemberHi,
Have you enabled debug?
If so can you please do so and then check the following file and let us know what you see:
wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/subscription_handle_debug.log
January 10, 2012 at 5:23 am #40119adminKeymasterOkay got to the bottom of this issue. Please download a new build (v7.5.6) of the plugin and it should work fine. Keep debug enabled as suggested by Peter in case you face trouble.
January 10, 2012 at 1:26 pm #40120browndogMemberThanks guys!
I’ve upgraded to v7.5.6 and created a new member – I’ll keep you posted about the upgrade notification (have to wait day for upgrade to happen).
Thanks!
January 11, 2012 at 2:58 pm #40121browndogMemberHey Guys!
Good news: the upgrade notification came! Thanks so much!
I have just one minor question:
It looks like the email tokens are not working with this email as they do with other emails (like Registration Complete). For instance, I am seeing:
Dear {first_name} {last_name}
Rather than the actual values for these tokens, like:
Dear John Doe
Do the tokens simply not work with the email upgrade notification, or is there an another issue perhaps?
Again, thanks so much for your patience in guiding me through this process. It is very, very appreciated.
January 12, 2012 at 4:47 am #40122adminKeymasterThe tokens don’t work on the notification email. The notification email is sent in bulk (to all the members who got upgraded that day) which reduces server load. So all the users get that same email which is why it sends a generic message.
January 12, 2012 at 1:41 pm #40123browndogMemberGotcha — good to know. Thanks so much!
January 20, 2012 at 4:11 pm #40124bernardMemberGreat !!! it works but as Browndog I get
Dear {first_name} {last_name}
so the solution is to put a generic message ?
I am running my site with eMember 7.5.6.
January 21, 2012 at 5:44 am #40125adminKeymasterYeah, please use a generic message. The alternative is to individually send emails to each member which will unnecessarily take a toll on your server if you have a few thousand members for example (I don’t think it is that big of a deal to not have the member’s name in an auto upgrade notification email).
