I’m sorry that this is so long, but I need to provide detailed background for the question to make sense.
My client has a membership site using WP eMember and WP eStore. They sell online courses that last eight weeks, with all participants in a course starting at the same time and going through the course as a group. So a person may purchase a course today that won’t start until a month from today. Courses must be paid for in full before a person can participate, so payment is not by subscription.
The purchase process requires WP eMember registration before purchase with WP eStore, which changes the person’s membership level to that of the first week of the specific course.
To control access to course materials, participants are assigned a membership level allowing access only to to the first week’s material, which auto-upgrades to the next week’s membership level after 7 days, and so on for eight weeks.
The auto-upgrade feature only counts from the date of the “Subscription Start Date,” which can be as much as two or three months before a course begins. This date is assigned when the person first registers with WP eMember. It can be changed manually, but with hundreds of members this can become a burden.
It would be better for my client if the auto-upgrade feature counted from an arbitrary date, rather than the “Subscription Start Date.”
My question is this: Is there a way to automatically assign a member’s “Subscription Start Date” so the auto-upgrade feature works correctly without manually changing dates for each participant? Or could the ability to assign an arbitrary base date be added to the auto-upgrade feature?
November 21, 2013 at 6:40 am #59076adminKeymasterI am working on adding a small new feature that should help with this situation. I should be able to give you an update tomorrow.
November 22, 2013 at 3:56 am #59077adminKeymasterI have completed this new little feature. I have sent you an update via email.
This is how you can handle the setup you are going after.
1) Create a new membership level. This is just an intermediate membership level to collect all the members.
2) When members are signing up for this special course (that will begin in the future), put them in this new intermediate level that you created in step 1.
3) Go to the following eMember interface on the day the membership should start:
WP eMember -> Admin Functions -> Bulk Operation
Use the options there to bulk change the subscription start date and then the membership level to the first week level. Thats it.
There is also a step by step instruction on how to do it here:

Thanks in advance.
