HI. When a buyer is returned to our thank you page after purchasing using Authorize.net the page looks terrible as it isn’t loading the css.
So, I tested changing to the alternative method you suggest (option 2 here https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/authorizenet-redirect-page-not-working but if a person doesn’t click the link to return then the sale doesn’t complete and they don’t get the email with the download links.
Are there any other ways I can use the default return method, but have it load the css so the page still looks good? Can I add a call to the css on the page somehow? Or are you aware of any settings I can change in Authorize.net?
thank you!
June 6, 2014 at 11:34 pm #63546adminKeymasterIts due to the way standard authorize.net works. If you make your “Thank You” page to be a HTTPS page then you won’t see that CSS issue you mentioned when using option 1.
Alternatively, you can use authorize.net’s AIM gateway which doesn’t have this issue. Our payment gateway bundle has integration with authorize.net’s AIM gateway:

So, I’m considering going with your first suggestion – to add an SSL certificate to my hosting – as I have other areas it would be useful.
In that case, I organise the SSL cert with my host and then I’m looking at using a plugin like [http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-https/] so I can selectively make pages https. (In your opinion is this plugin necessary?)
Then I would make the thank you page secure and change it in eStore settings to [https://mysite.com/thank-you-for-your-purchase.]
In this case, do I still need the additional payment gateway bundle?
Anything else I need to think of?
Thank you so much for your help.
(PS I recently paid for a custom job to add an affiliate tracking pixel to the thank you page – will that be affected if I change the page to https?)
June 9, 2014 at 11:11 pm #63548adminKeymasterWhat you have outlined there is perfect.
You don’t necessarily have to use that https plugin. You could force a page to HTTPS by adding some lines in your htaccess file. Tutorials like the following might be handy:

But if you prefer to use that plugin then thats fine also.
You won’t need the additional payment gateway bundle if you do the above. The affiliate tracking pixel won’t be affected.
