We are an editorial content provider to media outlets across Canada.
We pay our columnists commissions (30%) based on their sales. Each column is also edited by an editor, to whom we pay a 12% commission. However, the assigned editor may be different for each columnist, depending on workload.
Is there a way to assign a specific second affiliate (the editor) to each new product(column) within eStore? I see in eStore Setting>Product Specific Commission that a second commission rate can be set, but no way to assign it to a specific affiliate, in this case the editor.
Secondly, I do not want the second commission rate to reduce the amount paid to the columnist (30%). I was looking at increasing all commission rates to 42%, then assigning the 12% to the editor, but that seems a bit clunky. As well, if I increase the commission rate under the Affiliate plugin to 42% for the columnists, there doesn’t seem to be a way to assign each individual product to a specific second affiliate in eStore when we create the product.
Thanks for your help.
Do you think an adaptation of the Two Tier Affiliate Model would work for your case?

I’ll have a look at your suggestion. Can you tell me, however, if we pay a 30% commission to the columnist and 12% to the editor, would that reduce the columnist’s commission to 18%? Is there a way to ensure the columnist always gets the 30% and the editor 12%?
I think what you need is a setup like the following but be able to specify multiple IDs for the sharing partners:
Adding multiple author IDs complicates the situation but I think it is doable. It will need a custom job for sure.
How much for the custom job?
And thanks for your help.
