Hi
I’ve posted this problem in the comments one week ago – but I still have no answer. I wasn’t aware of the existence of this forum – and I discovered it while searching around for a solution.
When I add a digital product – the plugin adds // when I use apostrophe. So The Philosopher’s Stone becomes The Philosopher’s Stone.
Also, you mention that for testing purposes, we can type the url of the digital product’s location in the browser – what happens if there are spaces in the name of the product?
I’ve tried to configure the plugin to fit my situation, which is very simple (one digital product to be downloaded – a few products to be shipped) – and I find it confusing.
I don’t know what email customers receive, and when.
Looking at your documentation, I fins dozens of articles, videos, forums…
I understand this is a new product – and you are to be congratulated for your enormous work, the plugin is excellent (set aside the problems mentioned above).
It still feels a bit complicated though, and finding answers is not easy.
People are looking for a simple solution to use, so please please keep things as simple as possible.
Looking forward to receive a quick solution for my issues,
Ben

Is there a way to send a different email when hard and digital products are sold?
Where will the download link be placed?
Thanks

A vaild URL is not suppose to have spaces. The name of the product has no effect on the URL. For example the name of your product is “Demo Product” which has a space but when the downloadable file for this product is going to be something similar to the following:
http://www.your-domain.com/wp-content/downloads/ebooks/demo-product.zip
Regarding the complication… It’s always a trade off between complication and features/functionality. Over time I have taken feedback from my customers and added lots of functionality to the plugin so they can do what they want to do. Your needs are simple but that doesn’t mean that everyone has simple need. I try to keep it simple and easy to use but sometimes it’s really hard to draw the line. I have created two tutorials specially for people with simple needs though:

If you are selling both Physical and Digital products then you can make the email generic. For example, you can use something similar to the following which is valid for both physical and digital products:
Thank You for your purchase.
Any items to be shipped will be processed as soon as possible, any items that can be downloaded can be downloaded using the encrypted links below.
{product_link}
Thank You
you Name
Let me know how you go
