I have been researching different payment service providers and I really like the look of Braintree. Has anyone successfully integrated eStore and Braintree for Pay-Per-View?
If so what are your thoughts on Braintree as a payment processor?
September 10, 2013 at 11:52 pm #57674adminKeymasterI think Braintree is a good payment processor. We just don’t have very many users who use them. If a few more users want Braintree, I will look into integrating them.
October 26, 2013 at 3:34 am #57675lesatownsendMemberI have about 20 clients who are all using eStore (all bought their own liscenses) and I could get most (maybe all) to add Braintree as their merchant account if an integration was available.
Please do it.
Also, Braintree just announced that they are partnering with Paypal (they will remain a completely separate company). As a result, more and more people will be hearing about them. It would be in your best interest to capture some of that market. Hint, hint.
PS. I use Braintree with Freshbooks to bill my clients and LOVE them!
October 26, 2013 at 11:57 pm #57676adminKeymasterIf we get a few more users to show interest, we will add the brain tree gateway for sure. PayPal recently acquired BrainTree though so I don’t know if things are going to change after the acquisition.
November 13, 2013 at 6:06 pm #57677lp9900MemberI would love to see a gateway for Braintree. It would simplify my business and make your product easier to refer.
So where do you stand now?
November 14, 2013 at 5:35 am #57678adminKeymasterUpdate: Braintree payment gateway has been added to eStore.

Thank you for your interest… if a few more users show interest then we will develop a module for Braintree.
March 18, 2014 at 12:28 am #57679lesatownsendMemberHey,
I just discovered you have a free Braintree integration plugin available now:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-braintree-plugin
Couple things:
1. This doesn’t seem to integrate with eStore but just allow you to add buy buttons that link to Braintree. As a result, you can’t subscribe someone to a mailing list. Nor can you offer someone the option of paying by paypal or credit card via braintree.
2. When you click the “buy now” button, the fields to enter your credit card appear on the same page. Unless all of your sales pages are protected under a SSL certificate, this would leave the customer’s credit card information unprotected.
Is this the only integration with Braintree that you plan to offer? Or can I go ahead and pay for an integration that will actually integrate with eStore?
March 18, 2014 at 12:38 am #57680wzpModeratorThat one you are referring to has no relation to eStore. That is a completely separate plugin just to accept payment via Braintree. That plugin works on it own (it is a simple plugin to accept Braintree payment quickly)
WP eStore has Braintree integration also (there is a free eStore braintree gateway integration addon).
September 2, 2014 at 10:25 pm #57681morleyMemberI’d like to cast another vote for Braintree. Although Stripe has been great so far, Braintree has phone support, and I’ve heard good things about their customer support. A huge plus is that they cover all the fees for the first $50K worth of volume for US-based merchants!

September 3, 2014 at 12:17 am #57682wpCommerceModerator@morley, we already have an addon to use Braintree payment gateway with eStore:

September 5, 2014 at 5:07 pm #57683morleyMemberAwesome! Thanks for the heads up on that. I’m doing some testing with it right now and am having some trouble. I put my Braintree sandbox credentials in the plugin settings, but when I attempt to run test transactions, it’s giving me a 401 Braintree authentication exception error. Do I have to put the entire eStore plugin in sandbox mode to test it, or should it be working as is?
September 6, 2014 at 12:38 am #57684wpCommerceModerator@morley, you will need to enable sandbox in the eStore settings to run a test transaction using Braintree payment gateway.
September 6, 2014 at 5:22 am #57685morleyMemberYes, that did the trick. I have one quick question about the payment form. I tried to add the tooltip image next to the CVV box as in the gateway bundle payment form. However, when I roll the cursor over the tooltip image, the corresponding text that materializes is not formatted in the nice green bubble as it is when using the gateway addon Stripe checkout. I’m guessing it has something to do with the javascript, but the gateway bundle tooltips.js is still loading on the page since that plugin is also active.
September 6, 2014 at 4:47 pm #57686morleyMemberIt seems to be the CSS of the specular_wrapper and specular divs that is somehow interacting with surrounding divs that’s getting in the way of the styling. Otherwise, the js seems to be doing its job in bringing up the tooltip text. If there’s a way to get the tooltip to behave as it does in the gateway bundle, that would be really helpful. Thanks!
September 7, 2014 at 1:17 am #57687wpCommerceModeratorCurrently there is no tooltip option in the CVV field. This needs to be customized. I have sent you an email for it. Let me know if you don’t receive it.
